Marcella May (Hoch) Frey

Marcella May Frey, 92, of Logansport, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

Born on March 12, 1930, Marcella is the daughter of the late Marshall and Jennie (Funk) Hoch.  Marcella was married to Francis L. “Frank” Zeider who preceded in death on August 12, 1961.  On February 5, 1966, in Logansport, she married Wendell Neal Frey who preceded in death on October 7, 2006.

Marcella graduated from Pioneer High School. While working at Switches (for 30 years) she attended IUK and received her bachelor’s degree.  She then worked for the CDC in Monticello before retiring from the Logansport State Hospital.

Marcella enjoyed working in her garden and being outside.  She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Marcella was a lifelong servant of the Salvation Army, even into her late 80’s, she was always willing to volunteer her time to serve others.

Surviving is a son, Terry L. (Shirley) Zeider of Kokomo; daughter, Janice L. (Mike) Day of Logansport; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; two brothers, Perman (Sue) Hoch of Logansport; Virgil Hoch of Arizona; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 daughters 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A celebration of life service for Marcella will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Eric Stovall officiating. Burial will take place in the Royal Center Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
